Oil From Ruptured Barge Threatens Shellfish Beds

OCEAN ISLE, N.C. — The Coast Guard worked Tuesday to protect oyster and clam beds in the Intracoastal Waterway from being contaminated by 60,000 gallons of black oil that spilled when a barge ran aground and ruptured Monday night.
