A Filipino gang thought to be Communist rebels captured a 10-man U.S. military team looking for the wreckage of an American World War II bomber but released them after one day, a U.S. Embassy spokesman said. The spokesman said the Americans were riding in a vehicle after searching for the wreckage of a B-26 in Nueva Vizcaya province, about 100 miles north of Manila, when they were intercepted by the suspected guerrillas. It is believed to be the first time a group of U.S. servicemen had been captured by local Communist rebels.
