The NCAA Presidents' Commission has agreed to explore the questions of freshman eligibility, length of seasons, reduction of athletic costs and what a grant-in-aid should cover.

Commission members last week pinpointed those issues as the subjects they want to explore in depth next October, when they normally would draft proposals for the NCAA convention.

Division I members of the commission asked their chairman, Chancellor I.M. Heyman of the University of California, to develop for the October meeting a set of options that would reduce the institutional costs for athletic programs.
