Sonora Takes Over Top Spot in Baseball Poll

Sonora High School replaced El Dorado this week as Orange County's top-ranked baseball team in the Sportswriters' Assn. poll. Esperanza, which defeated El Dorado, 8-3, Friday, is No. 2, while the Golden Hawks dropped to No. 3. Irvine, which leads the South Coast League, moved into the Top 10 for the first time and is ranked ninth.

Others receiving votes: Katella (11-5), Tustin (10-2) and Garden Grove (8-3).
