Regulators seized two more savings and loans.

April 15, 1986

The Federal Home Loan Bank Board announced that it placed San Rafael-based Columbus Savings & Loan Assn. and San Francisco-based Gateway Savings Bank in conservatorship because both were insolvent due to poor-quality real estate loans. Each financial institution will remain open under new management provided by other Bay Area savings and loans.
