Schools Post Reward for Reseda Vandals

April 15, 1986

The Los Angeles Unified School District Monday unanimously voted to offer a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who vandalized, burglarized and then set fire to offices at Cleveland High School in Reseda.

Vandals broke into the school's main office between 11 p.m. April 1 and 1 a.m. April 2, Principal Kay Smith said. Damage to the school at 8140 Vanalden Ave. was estimated at $35,000, and repairs will take at least six weeks, she said.

The identity of witnesses providing information will be kept confidential, school district officials said.
