View-Oriented Tract Opens in Sunnymead

April 27, 1986

The Mediterranean-styled community of Moreno del Rey holds its formal opening today in the view-oriented foothills of northern Sunnymead, with the first increment of 26 single-family homes, 14 of which had been sold by midweek.

Designed by architect Barry Berkus, the homes' red tile roofs, window shutters and ironwork carry out the Mediterranean village theme. Homes range from three to five bedrooms and two to three baths in 1,291 to 2,198 square feet (the largest plan offers an optional fifth bedroom) and are priced from $89,990 to $120,990 with FHA, VA and conventional financing available.

A variety of options allows such selections as a master-bedroom sitting room, a workshop room, wet-bar entertainment area or a three-car garage. Standard features include ceramic tile entries, wood-burning fireplaces, skylights in two-story plans and vaulted or high ceilings in living and dining rooms, master bedroom suites and family rooms.

Lots are about 7,200 square feet, with front yards landscaped and sprinklered and rear yards fenced. Other features include concrete tile roofs, solid-core entry doors, copper plumbing and concrete driveways.

The four furnished models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 11965 Villa Hermosa, reached from the Pomona (60) Freeway by Perris Boulevard.
