Culver City : Calgary Chosen as Sister City

May 01, 1986

The City Council has chosen Calgary, Ontario, as its fourth sister city, making Culver City the only American city to have a sister-city relationship with a Canadian city, according to the city staff.

The Sister City Committee, a nonprofit group in charge of the program, recommended Calgary at the request of some Canadians who live in Culver City, the staff reported.

Calgary joins Uruapan, Mexico; Kaizuka, Japan, and Iri City, South Korea, in Culver City's program, which offers free meals and lodging in Culver City for visitors from each city.
