California homes were less affordable in March.

However, they remained more affordable than a year earlier, the California Association of Realtors said. Thirty percent of California's households could afford to buy the state's median-priced home in March, compared to 32% in February, the trade association said. But the March affordability index was still higher than the 28% reading registered in March of last year. The index represents the percentage of all households across California that could afford to purchase the median-priced home of $129,849.
