May 15, 1986

In an attempt to reduce traffic congestion along Florence Avenue, the City Council voted to restrict parking during peak hours.

Recommendations were submitted to the council in a report from the city's Traffic and Safety Commission that analyzed roadway conditions, existing parking regulations and comparisons of traffic accidents. Parking on Florence, one of city's main thoroughfares, will be prohibited on the north side between Priam Drive and Garfield Avenue from 6 to 9 a.m.; on the north side between Garfield and Ajax avenues from 6 to 9 a.m., and on the south side between Scout Avenue and 500 feet east of Ajax from 3 to 6 p.m.
