Grading is in progress and construction is scheduled to start in the spring of 1987 on the first phase of 528 residential units at Marina Hills, a 700-acre, master-planned community being developed in Laguna Niguel by Taylor Woodrow Homes.
On completion, in four phases, the community will include 500 acres of housing, a total of 2,315 units, of which 1,655 will be single-family detached homes, town houses and condominiums, and 660 will be rental apartments. The development will be valued at more than $350 million, Taylor Woodrow said.
The first phase, expected to be opened in the summer of 1987, will contain 101 single-family detached homes, 128 single-family attached units, 99 patio homes and 200 multifamily structures.
The 200 acres of recreational land will include a county regional park with direct access to the Salt Creek corridor, creating a direct link from the Street of the Golden Lantern to Monarch Beach for three uninterrupted miles of hiking and bicycling trails.
