Badger Land, beaten favorite in the Preakness, has been withdrawn from the June 7 Belmont Stakes. The decision followed an earlier announcement that Preakness winner Snow Chief will also pass up the Belmont and run instead in Monday's Jersey Derby.

Badger Land, fourth in the Preakness, was scratched, according to co-owner Jeff Lukas, because the horse "showed us he's not ready for the next step."
