Lila Garrett's commentary implied that the corporate behemoths which control most of what is televised today are suppressing any story content antagonistic to the Reagan party line ("Maintaining the Fantasy Politics of TV," May 18).
Moreover, she hints TV may be used to bend viewers' minds toward, for example, admiring the rich, degrading the poor, despising all Russians, ignoring Jews and laughing at blacks.
If this trend continues, we may one day hear the voice of a totalitarian corporate bureaucrat reciting before each program the chilling words which preceded the 1960s sci-fi TV series "The Outer Limits": "Do not attempt to adjust your set. We will control the horizontal. . . . and the vertical. . . . We will control all that you see and hear. . . ."
