Girl, 15, Hurt in Drive-By Shooting

May 25, 1986

A 15-year-old Los Angeles girl was in critical condition Saturday after an apparent gang-related drive-by shooting in the Lennox area.

Sheriff's deputies said La Shaun Harris had gathered with her friends after attending the funeral of a gang member, when the shooting occurred about 1 p.m. on the porch of a home at 1040 W. 111th St.

Three to five males were believed to have been in a car that drove by, but no suspects were in custody, deputies said.

Harris was taken to Martin Luther King Jr. General Hospital. The hospital had no immediate report on the extent of her injuries.
