The American-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host Abraham Sharir, minister of tourism for Israel, at a luncheon on Thursday at noon at Sinai Temple, 10400 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles. Sharir will speak on the effect of terrorism on tourism in Israel. Cost of the luncheon is $25 for members, $30 for non-members. Reservations should be made by Monday. Trans World Airlines is offering youth travelers, aged 12 through 24, special discounts on transatlantic fares getween 26 U.S. cities and 18 overseas destinations. For example, fares from the West Coast, including Los Angeles, are $298 one way to Paris and London and $348 to Rome. Reservations for travel must be made, and tickets bought, within 72 hours of departure.

Vacation Travel Concepts is offering flights between New York and five cities in Europe from $179 (to London) each way, Paris from $209, Nice from $219 and Zurich from $229. Flights are guaranteed departures on 747s on scheduled airlines every Tuesday and Wednesday through Oct. 15. Passengers may fly into one city and return from another at no extra charge.
