If the hotshot manager of the Dodgers wears out Fernando's golden arm by overworking him, which he apparently is starting to do, then Lasorda should be drummed out of professional baseball.

Mike Downey's article on Valenzuela makes it appear that Lasorda is gambling Valenzuela's future against the Dodgers' need for a stronger bullpen.

Fifteen minutes of ice indeed! Let's see the rich Dodgers and Peter O'Malley hire some dependable, if expensive, relief pitching for their young, and probably innocent, star.
