June 08, 1986|John M. Wilson

Ron Reagan's following in Pa's thespian footsteps, but being low profile about it. He won't talk publicly about his just-wrapped role in New World's "Soul Man," in which he plays an opportunistic Harvard law student who's low enough to take bets on colleagues facing expulsion. (His heaviest line: "You scumbag!")

Ron did chat a bit about the part on ABC's "Good Morning America." But--as he told a publicist fielding interview requests--"I work for 'Good Morning America.' "

Although his cast calls came at the height of the recent Libya conflict, said a source close to the production, Reagan appeared to be without Secret Service protection--and many folks on the set were keeping their distance.
