He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol but was released for treatment to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was in stable but guarded condition.
Timothy Edward Winton, 19, of Garden Grove, the driver of the truck, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter and booked at the Orange County jail on $25,000 bail. According to Sgt. Randy Tucker, the collision occurred at 1:30 a.m. when Winton made a right turn from the southbound lane of Lamplighter into the westbound lane of Chapman.
