Wider Audience for Martinez

June 08, 1986

This is a plea that I hope you will pass on to the powers-that-be at The Times.

Al Martinez writes so well and with so much perception on so many facets of the human condition that his column should appear in more than the Westside Thursday edition.

I realize that he frequently writes on matters that are of greater interest to residents of the Westside. But frequently his topics are not local in their substance or character. Those columns, at least, should appear in other area editions as well. (Maybe they do, and my assumption is wrong.)

The reason for my request is that, after 27 years, I am moving away from the Westside, but not out of the Times circulation area. I am relocating so that the focus of my business can be toward the Inland Empire. But from what I have already perceived about people in that area, some of Al's observations would be well received by many, and needed by others.

Al Martinez's column also appears in The Times' Valley Edition.
