The Paramount Unified School District recently accepted a $76,000 federal grant to provide 93 summer jobs for low-income students.
The students, between 14 and 21, will work as clerks, custodians and recreational and child care aides at school district and city sites for the minimum wage of $3.35 an hour.
The funds are from the federal Youth Employment Program for economically disadvantaged youths. They are allocated to the County of Los Angeles and administered by the district adult education office.
The program is schedule to start June 30 and end Aug. 29.
