The 2,000 San Antonio residents forced to flee when a freight train derailed, exploded and dumped hazardous chemicals were back home. Two unidentified men believed to be drifters died in the explosion and fire triggered when 32 cars on an 80-car Missouri Pacific train fell off a trestle June 8. In the following week, cleanup crews worked to control fires and prevent further explosions from seven tanker cars loaded with hazardous chemicals.
