Orange County Fair Racing Begins

July 07, 1986

The Orange County Fair, which ran a fall mixed-breed meeting in the past, opens its two-week season tonight at Los Alamitos with the $25,000 Juaneno Stakes for 2-year-olds.

Five other thoroughbred stakes--the $35,000 Orange County Handicap next Saturday, the $15,000 Las Palmas on July 16, the $15,000 Carrillo on July 18, the $30,000 Chapman Handicap on July 19 and the $25,000 Saddleback on closing night, July 21--are also on the schedule. The fair will also run two quarter-horse stakes, and a few Appaloosa races are also scheduled.

The fair runs every night but Sunday, with first post at 7:30 p.m.
