Adaptive Digital Systems Inc., a privately held computer designer based in Irvine, has signed a $1.85-million contract with the Navy to build 68 Sonar Signal Processors to be installed in Navy submarines. The contract calls for the processors, which enhance sonar displays, to be built over a period of 18 months.

The company previously had signed a $750,000 contract to build an unspecified number of similar devices for the Navy. That contract was completed in March, 1984.
