Rangeland Fires Rage Out of Control in Alaska

FAIRBANKS, Alaska — Scores of lightning-caused wildfires that have blackened 360,000 acres of Alaska rangeland burned out of control Friday, officials said. A 64-acre blaze that came within three miles of a Trans Alaska Pipeline System pump station was brought under control earlier, they said.
