Premier of Kuwait Forms New Cabinet

July 13, 1986|United Press International

KUWAIT — The prime minister of Kuwait, Crown Prince Saad al Abdullah al Sabah, formed a new Cabinet on Saturday, Kuwait's official news agency said.

The agency said the new 21-man Cabinet, the 13th since Kuwait gained independence from Britain in 1961, includes six new posts. The key ministers, such as those holding the oil, foreign affairs and information portfolios, remained in their posts, the agency said.

The previous 15-man Cabinet submitted its resignation to Abdullah on July 1 amid mounting criticism of government mismanagement in the areas of economics and security.
