The series "The State of the Comic Strip" (by Charles Solomon) that recently ran in Calendar lauded Berke Breathed's "Bloom County" for its originality, humor, progressiveness.
Why, may I ask, does The Times refuse to print the strip? It would be a definite improvement over some of the more recent additions, such as "Out of Bounds" and "Mister Boffo."
