A judge ordered the turnover of Sgt. York papers.

July 22, 1986

U.S. District Judge Ferdinand Fernandez ordered the government to give General Dynamics documents on its competitor's handling of bidding for the anti-aircraft gun. The ruling came in a suit by St. Louis-based General Dynamics, which a federal grand jury has indicted on charges of overcharging the government for work on a prototype of the Sgt. York gun. General Dynamics sought the bidding documents of Ford Aerospace & Communications of Orange County, arguing that its bidding had been "highly unusual, if not unique."
