Huntington Park : Job-Creation Incentive

August 07, 1986

The City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency, voted to waive permit fees for development projects in the greater Watts Enterprise Zone that will create 25 or more jobs.

The fee waivers are part of certain tax incentives intended to attract employers to the zone, which encompasses parts of Huntington Park, South Gate and Lynwood, said James Funk, Huntington Park director of community development. The goal is to eventually create about 3,000 jobs in the zone, which is west of Alameda Street, between Florence and Slauson avenues.

The fees range from $75 for parking variances to $175 for conditional use permits.
