Annoyed Theatergoers

August 10, 1986

I read with interest Janice Arkatov's "The Stages of Annoyance" (July 27) on 25 distractions that can ruin a theater outing. While I heartily agree with all 25 (killing talkers should be legalized as justifiable homicide), she's overlooked a biggie.

People who wear watches that beep on the hour should be flogged during intermission. I suppose these overgrown adolescent boys think their oinking gadgets are a status symbol. Forget it! You can buy one anywhere for $14.95.

Leave the Buck Rogers toys at home (or turn them off) so the rest of us can enjoy a play or film without these hourly electronic mating calls.
