With bookings to Hawaii not quite as good as anticipated (in light of the initial flood of cancellations to Europe), several Hawaiian hotels and chains are offering a variety of discount programs.
For example, Amfac Resorts Hawaii has reduced Aloha rates from $5 to $20 off regular rates, depending on the hotel, at four properties on Kauai and the Big Island. The cutoff points for the discounts vary from hotel to hotel, but may last until Dec. 19. Amfac also has an Aloha car package, effective until Dec. 19, where you get a car free for the same number of nights you book, with hotel rates varying from $70 to $117 for two people per night. More information is available by calling (800) 227-4700.
If you pay the regular rate at any of 22 Aston Hotels & Resorts in the four major islands you can get a free rental car, based on availability, for the number of nights you stay at the property. This program runs from Sept. 1 to Dec. 19. Call (800) 367-5124 for details.
At the Westin Ilikai in Honolulu you can get $35 off regular rates for all rooms until Sept. 30 under the hotel's Ilikai 35 program. In addition, you'll get a reduction of 20% off all food and beverage costs charged to your room when you check out. Call (800) 228-3000.
