Bill Curry's article (Aug. 3), "Light Is Growing Dim for Columbia River Indians," shows us again how the American Indian is being forced from his ancestral home.
Shocking, almost unbelievable, deeply distressing, are a few of the adjectives that come to mind. Why should these few Indians be displaced so that white recreationalists can take over these few acres of land? There is plenty of other places for them to fish and hunt.
I have lived in the Northwest, seen the Indians fishing on the Columbia River, and I feel very strongly that they should be left alone.
