Jill Clayburgh, who won Oscar nominations for "Starting Over" and "An Unmarried Woman," will turn up in a TV movie on CBS next season. She's starring in "Leaving Home," about a woman who learns she has cancer and tries to find a replacement for herself in her family's life. Tom Skerritt plays the husband.
The story of David and Goliath will get a new telling in a children's special for ABC. "The Kingdom Chums: Little David's Adventure," set for broadcast on Nov. 28, will use live-action sequences and animation to relate its Biblical tale. It's planned as the first in a series of programs featuring the stuffed animals known as the Kingdom Chums.
Singer Marilyn McCoo makes her debut in the NBC soap opera "Days of Our Lives" Thursday. She's also signed to return as host of the syndicated "Solid Gold" music show this season--a job she previously held from 1981-84.
Returns: John Saxon, who turned up on an episode of "Falcon Crest" two seasons ago as Tony Cumson, father of Lance (Lorenzo Lamas), will be a regular on the CBS soap opera this season, trying to win his son back from Angela (Jane Wyman). . . . Wayne Northrop is reprising his role as Michael Cullen on "Dynasty." During the first season of the ABC series, Cullen was Blake Carrington's chauffeur.
