TURN-ONS AND TURN-OFFS IN CURENT HOME ENTERTAINMENT RELEASES : Excellent Good Fair Poor : COMPACT DISCS

August 19, 1986|RICHARD CROMELIN

"The Collection." The Move. Castle Communications. AAD. Hard-core fans of this late-'60s British rock band will scan the contents of this English import for pulverizing classics by the forebear of ELO. And they'll find "Brontosaurus," "Cherry Blossom Clinic Revisited" and "Hello Susie" in all their soaring, grinding glory. The rest of the hour is an erratic but generally satisfying assortment of the influential band's post-psychedelic art-pop, including several cuts not on A&M's "Best of the Move" compilation. The packaging contains minimal information. Sound quality: average.
