Outfielder Claudell Washington of the New York Yankees filed a $62.4-million lawsuit in a federal court in San Francisco, accusing his former agent of making a series of investments in which the agent prospered and the ballplayer lost nearly $800,000.

The suit was filed by Washington against one-time agent Thomas Baenziger, seven other people and nine businesses.
