An appeals court upheld an order against TWA.

August 29, 1986

The U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis ruled that TWA cannot delay collecting union dues from flight attendants hired last spring to replace striking workers. The union called the decision a big victory. The airline had sought a stay of the lower court order. The latest ruling means that TWA must collect a $100 initiation fee from each of the 2,900 flight attendants hired and $36 monthly dues from all of its current 4,200 flight attendants.
