Ens. McCallum and the Raiders

August 29, 1986

It is very hard to justify this special handling of a naval officer to engage in a commercial enterprise when the Department of Defense and the White House refused to allow nine enlisted men (mostly black also), one civilian employee and an officer to participate in the Friendship Games in Moscow in July. The last-minute decision not to permit their involvement was due to the "commercial" aspects of the games.

Ted Turner, eat your heart out. Apparently, "Admiral" Al Davis has more rank than Turner. And that's the bottom line in this scenario, it is a "rank" deal.
