The nation's first hospital devoted entirely to the treatment and research of AIDS opened in Houston, aiming to provide a large, centralized patient population and facilities for studying various drugs and other types of treatment. A spokeswoman for the Institute for Immunological Disorders said 30 to 50 outpatients are expected to begin reporting at the AIDS hospital for blood tests and drugs. "When our patients become ill enough, we will have inpatients," she said.
