Hughes agreed to buy Manville's headquarters.

September 04, 1986

The aerospace firm said it will lease back to Manville about half of Manville's 720,000-square-foot Denver headquarters building and use the rest to expand or transfer Hughes Aircraft operations. A spokesman for El Segundo-based Hughes said it was too soon to say which operations, if any, would be moved to Denver. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The agreement must be approved by the boards of both companies as well as by a federal bankruptcy judge in New York, where Manville is the subject of bankruptcy proceedings.
