Manned Flight Leader Picked as NASA Deputy

SANTA BARBARA — President Reagan will nominate Dale D. Myers, one-time head of manned space flight for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in the early 1970s, to be the agency's deputy administrator, it was announced Wednesday.

Myers, 64, will succeed William R. Graham, who has been chosen as the President's science adviser. Since 1984, Myers has been president of a consulting firm specializing in aerospace and energy. He was undersecretary of the Energy Department for two years in the Carter Administration.
