The City Council on Monday will consider a design concept by the Prudential Insurance Co. of America which calls for a mixed-use development on an 18-site in western Culver City.
The revised preliminary development plan must be approved by the council before the company can continue negotiating with the city for the project, which includes a 12-story office building, a 715,000-square-foot shopping mall and about 500 residential units.
Prudential must also conduct a supplemental environmental impact study and receive a zoning change and final design approval from the council before construction can begin.
The site is bounded by Washington Boulevard, Walnut Avenue, Zanja Street and Glencoe Avenue. The design plan was unanimously approved last month by the Planning Commission, which stipulated that the extra environmental study be conducted.
