Federal authorities looking into the finances of Memphis State basketball Coach Dana Kirk have subpoenaed records of a contract he held with four Memphis car dealers, a newspaper reported. Kirk, who led Memphis State to the NCAA tournament the past five years, served for a while as a spokesman for the Metro Ford Dealers Assn., said Ford dealer Tommy Keesee Jr.
In that job, Kirk was paid a salary and furnished with a car, Keesee told a Memphis newspaper.
He declined to say how much Kirk was paid, and the coach declined to discuss the arrangement.
A federal grand jury has been looking into Kirk's finances for several months.
