September 07, 1986|John M. Wilson

"There's been consistent interest," said ICM agent Marvin Josephson, "but we've told them all the same thing: We're putting letters of interest and calls on file until the book is finished."

At least two other Shcharansky books are in the works, including one dubbed a "love story" about the dissident and his wife Avital, but Josephson promises exclusive information from his client: "Many know the general outline (of Shcharansky's life), but no one really knows what happened in his nine years in prison. The book will concentrate on that period only he and the KGB know about."
