The Free World must find ways to stop murderous acts such as last week's terrorist attacks in Pakistan and Turkey, 3,500 Holocaust survivors were told during an observance at the Statue of Liberty in New York harbor. Members of the American Gathering and Federation of Jewish Survivors commemorated the arrival of the first Holocaust survivors to the United States 40 years ago. "We call upon the leaders of the Free World to find ways to combat and stop these murderous acts," said Benjamin Meed, president of the survivors' organization. The only response to terrorism is force, he said. American troops presented the flags of the 11 U.S. Army units that liberated Nazi death camps at the end of World War II.
