The State

September 09, 1986

Officers raided a home in the Biola area west of Fresno, where they confiscated 345 marijuana plants growing in a vineyard. Fresno County sheriff's deputies and state narcotics agents arrested four people for investigation of cultivation, possession and sale of marijuana. The raid was part of the statewide CAMP program to eradicate marijuana farming. Deputies said they spotted the marijuana plants from the air after receiving an anonymous tip. Deputies said each of the 345 marijuana plants would have brought about $2,000 upon harvesting. Arrested were George and Grace Weirmert, both 57; their son, Mark, 30, and Christine Rascon, 32, all of the Biola area.
