Egypt-Israel Summit to Start

September 10, 1986|United Press International

CAIRO — Egypt and Israel reached agreement today on resolving the Taba border dispute, opening the way for a summit Thursday between President Hosni Mubarak and Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres, Israeli negotiators said.

The summit--the first between an Israeli and Egyptian leader in five years--will be held in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, Egypt, a Peres aide said. The Egyptian Cabinet met in emergency session to approve the accord, to be signed by both delegations later today at the Mena House Hotel near the Giza pyramids.
