Bishop Diego 33, L.A. Baptist 13--Bishop Diego's Mark Boeddeker scored three touchdowns, including a game-breaking 87-yard kickoff return as the Cardinals posted an easy non-league victory over L.A. Baptist on Saturday at Monroe High.

Costly mistakes put L.A. Baptist behind 14-0 in the first quarter and the Knights never recovered.

Bishop Diego got in the scoreboard on a 26-yard scramble by quarterback Ted Tangney.

On the kickoff, Bishop Diego recovered the ball when Baptist failed to field it. Three plays later, Boeddeker caught a 3-yard touchdown pass.

The Knights cut the deficit to 14-7 on a touchdown with 37 seconds remaining in the first half. Quarterback Mike MacDonald and receiver Chip Morgan combined a 22-yard scoring pass.
