September 16, 1986|United Press International

HARTFORD, Conn. — Striking telephone workers began picketing across the state early Monday, but management said that only slight delays in service were caused by the walkout of 9,600 employees.

Members of the Connecticut Union of Telephone Workers struck the Southern New England Telecommunications Corp. Sunday to protest a contract proposal that they pay a larger share of their medical insurance premiums.
