An Army laboratory engaged in research with biological toxins has failed to account for more than 70 fluid ounces of a virus that poses a threat to human health, an environmental group charged in a lawsuit. The Army, while refusing to discuss the lawsuit, said the virus stock in question was "not considered to be biologically hazardous." The charges involving the laboratory at Ft. Detrick, Md., were made in an amendment to a lawsuit filed Sept. 2 by the Foundation on Economic Trends seeking an injunction to stop biological defense research.
