Glendora : Zoning Change Rejected

September 25, 1986

The City Council has unanimously rejected a proposed zoning change that would have allowed construction of a 57-home development on 9.2 acres next to the Glendora Country Club golf course. The project, which also had been rejected by the city Planning Commission, would have required an increase in density from the four homes per acre now permitted to more than six.

City officials considered the housing development too dense and did not think it blended well with the golf course, planning aide Rob Bruce said. Pacific Scene, a developer with regional offices in Walnut, wanted to build 19 more homes than existing zoning laws permit.
