A tractor-trailer apparently carrying a radioactive cargo plunged off a bridge into the Snake River near Rupert, Ida., but no radiation was detected in the water, state police said. A U.S. Department of Energy spokeswoman said the cargo was believed to be 16 tons of natural uranium in sealed containers and described it as "not dangerous." Karen Wheeless said: "The material is just slightly enriched above what is natural uranium--what people walk on and build their houses on all the time."
